The Brighton Film School
Books on Cinematography etc
There are many books available on the subject of cinematography and other aspects of film production (editing, lighting, sound, screenwriting, directing etc etc) far too numerous to list here and they can also be very expensive, so we advise our students NOT to buy lots of books until they are decided on a particular career path. All students are expected to take notes at lectures, but there are some books particularly recommended because they are inexpensive yet thorough. They are Cinematography by Kris Malkiewicz and The Film Maker's Handbook by Stephen Ascher. Both give an excellent overview of what you will need to learn, and these, together with others, will be found on Amazon.com
